Continuum flagging and general tips.

Controlling your ship movement, knowing when to act and fitting yourself into the flow of the team's attack or defense is an important role in competitive flagging events.

Where to look

A good habit to start is to keep your eyes focused on the enemies' ship or ships. It makes sense too. If you aren't busy looking at your own ship, you give yourself time to respond to the enemies attacks and plan your own attacks. Remember, keep your eyes off your own ship!

Where to shoot

When shooting at the moving aim for where they are going to be, not where they are currently. This technique is learned automatically if you've been playing for a long time but some players may overlook it. Don't shoot decoys, to tell the difference between a decoy and a real player look for clues like ship direction changing and the decoy overlapping a wall when it bounces.

Lag-attaching (LA)

Lag attaching is done by attaching to a teammates dead ship while that teammates waits for a respawn. Don't LA to someones whose movement was stopped by a wall during death, or exploded right in front of two or more rushing enemies. Risk a lag-attach when your teammate has exploded deep into enemy territory and the explosion travels deeper. If you aren't sending bombs as soon as you arrived, your LA has failed. If anti-warp is set by opposing team, change ships then LA.

Moving and advancing

Always keep a steady movement forward and rarely use your down arrow key. Bombs don't curve so look where your enemy is pointing and be ready to side-step then attack if you have a shot or grab a spot right around a corner until the bomb passes.  Push your ship forward, while floating in that direction, turn your ship before your enemy attacks and fly up and down (forward or backward) to "side-step" incoming bombs.

04

Kill!

If you focus on the second enemy in line it's easier to bomb him or her and have time to gun (or even pass) the closest one. Be sure to glance at your radar before making a push for very deep ground. While deep, call for teammates help and don't forget about your anchor. If you see enemies advancing on him or her at a rapid pace, attach back to your anchor and request a different one. Basically, getting two more more kills to one death should be a general goal.

05

Anchoring

Anchoring should be a task that calms you. Some players are just naturally good at anchoring. The task is repetitive. Staying back as far as you can while sending a steady stream of bombs as deep into the enemy as you can is your goal as an anchor whether you're attacking or defending. Remember to watch the enemies movements and ignore your own ship and this balance will become easier.
